Climate Action

Rather than here.....
Rather than here.....
.....We create a new world for them.

Hey There
At Kennys Global Links, we are Carbon Literate Certified and extremely passionate about Climate Action. Hence, we do a lot of workshops around climate action such as our sustainable fashion workshops and other creative sustainable crafts projects.

...we Create a beautiful new world for them
Mitigating climate change is noted as one of the environmental challenges we face in Greater Manchester that threaten the future health and prosperity of our region.
Tyndall Centre for Climate Research (2018) suggests that urgent action is needed to put Greater Manchester on a path to ‘carbon neutrality’ by 2038.
Therefore, most of our projects focus on encouraging participants to play their role in taking action to reduce carbon emissions and improve our environment, such as in our sustainable fashion workshops.
Participants of our workshops learn the benefit of sustainable fashion (including, saving money and time) and the need for us to avoid Fast Fashion, as the cheap fabrics used in production creates greenhouse gases and many pieces end up in landfills, where they produce methane as they degrade.
Hence, our sustainable projects strictly focuses on upcycling and refashioning unwanted textile/fabrics (old curtain, clothes, bedsheets, fabric books, etc) which would have ended in the landfills.
We are proud of the fact that we are taking a small step towards making a big change in the world. Hence, at Kennys Global Links, we are extremely passionate about climate action.
Therefore, we do a lot of workshops around climate action such as our sustainable fashion show and other creative sustainable crafts.
Kenny is Carbon Literate certified and has been supporting charities, the creative communities and organisations across Manchester to take direct action on climate change and the environment to ensure a swift and reasonable transition for a new green creative economy. She is the co-ordinator of the 'Moss Side Social Stitching Group' situated at the Millenium Powerhouse, Raby street, Moss Side. Our sewing sessions currently run every Tuesday and it is all about sustainable fashion. Kenny train these ladies on how they can divert unwanted fabric/clothes (any type of unwanted textile) which would have been sent to the landfill into something new and beautiful.
